প্রথম দিকের তিন গোয়েন্দা বই গুলা পড়লে যেকারো এই বইয়ের হন্য পাগল হতে বেশী টাইম লাগবে না। বাংলাদেশে সেবা প্রকাশনী এই বই প্রকাশ করে। আগে বিদেশী কাহিনী অবলম্বনে এই বই রূপান্তর করত রকিব হাসান। কিন্তু বর্তমানে রকিব দা এখন আর অনুবাদ করে না। সেইখানে হাল ধরেছে শামসুদ্দিন নওয়াব। কিন্তু প্রথম দিকের গল্পগুলো কোন বিদেশী কাহিনী থেকে রূপান্তর করা হত সেটা পেয়ে গিয়েছি।

প্রথম ৩০-৪০ টা বই ডাইরেক্ট রূপান্তর করা হয়েছিল “Three Investigators” থেকে। এই সিরিজ তৈরী করেছিলেন মানে লিখেছিলেন রবার্ট আর্থার (Robert Aurthur). কিন্তু এই Three Investigators এর সিরিজ এক সময় শেষ হয়ে যায়। তারপর আরো রূপান্তর করা হয় “Famous Five” থেকে যেগুলোর ক্রিয়েটর ছিলেন Enid Blyton.”Famous Five” এর গল্পগুলোতে জিনা ও রাফিয়ানের দেখা পাওয়া যেত। আর নরমাল গল্পগুলো রূপান্তরিত হয়েছিল সেই Three Investigators থেকে। একটা উদাহরণ দিই!! তিন গোয়েন্দার ফার্স্ট বই অর্থাত “তিন গোয়েন্দা” নামের বইটা মনে হয় আমরা পড়েছি। না পড়ে থাকলে এখান এখান থেকে ডাউনলোড করে নিন। আর এখন দেখি রবার্ট আর্থার এর “The Mystery of Terror Castle” এর কিছু কথোপকথন!!!

BOB ANDREWS PARKED his bike outside his home in
Rocky Beach and entered the house. As he closed the
door, his mother called to him from the kitchen.
“Robert? Is that you?”
“Yes, Mom.” He went into the kitchen. His mother,
brown-haired and slender, was making doughnuts.
“How was the library?” she asked.
“It was okay,” Bob told her. After all, there was
never, any excitement at the library. He worked there
part time, sorting returned books and helping with the
filing and cataloguing.
“Your friend Jupiter called.” His mother went on
rolling out the dough on a board. “He left a message.”
“A message?” Bob yelled with sudden excitement.
“What was it?”
“I wrote it down. I’ll get it out of my pocket as soon
as I finish with this dough.”
“Can’t you remember what he said?”
“I could remember an ordinary message,” his
mother answered, “but Jupiter doesn’t leave ordinary
messages. It was something fantastic.”
“Jupiter likes unusual words,” Bob said. controlling
his impatience. “He’s read an awful lot of books and
sometimes he’s a little hard to understand.”
“Not just sometimes!” his mother retorted. “He’s a
very unusual boy. My goodness, how he found my
engagement ring, I’ll never know.”
She was referring to the time the previous autumn
when she had lost her diamond ring. Jupiter Jones
had come to the house and requested her to tell him
every move she had made the day the ring was lost.
Then he had gone out to the pantry, and found the
ring behind a row of bottled tomato pickles. Bob’s
mother had taken it off and put it there while she was
sterilising the jars.
“I can’t imagine,” Mrs. Andrews said, “how he
guessed where that ring was!!”
“He didn’t guess, he figured it out,” Bob explained.
“That’s how his mind works . . . Mom, can’t you get
the message now?”
“In one minute,” his mother said, giving the dough
another flattening roll.
“Incidentally, what on earth was that story on the
front of yesterday’s paper about Jupiter’s winning the
use of a Rolls-Royce sedan for thirty days?”
“It was a contest the Rent-’n-Ride Auto Rental
Company had,” Bob told her. “They put a big jar full
of beans in their window and offered the Rolls-Royce
and a chauffeur for thirty days to whoever guessed
nearest to the right number of beans. Jupiter spent
about three days calculating how much space was in
the jar, and how many beans it would take to fill that
space. And he won . . . Mom, please, can’t you find
the message now?”
“All right,” his mother agreed. She began to wipe
the flour from her hands. “But what will Jupiter Jones……

তবে সেবা প্রকাশনীর প্রতিটা বইয়ে “বিদেশী কাহিনী অবলম্বনে” লেখা থাকত। ফলে সেবা প্রকাশনী কোন দোষ করে নাই। বরং অন্যদের মত কাহিনী চালানোর চেষ্টা করে নি!! তাছাড়া তারা প্রতিটা বইয়ের দাম কম করে ধরে!! ফলে তাদেরকে ধন্যবাদ রক্তপিপাসু এর মত টাকা আয় না করে আমাদের বই পড়ার সুযোগ করে দিয়েছে। তাছাড়া রকিব হাসান সংক্ষেপে রকিব দা অনুবাদ করে কাহিনী ঠিক রেখেছেন। অনুবাদ করে কাহিনী ঠিক রাখা একটি কঠিন কাজ। তাও আবার তা ভাল করে করতে হয়েছে তাকে। A Special Thanks Goes To RAKIB HASAN
